Chennai Children’s Choir to participate in the ‘Serenade! Choral Festival’

The Chennai Children’s Choir will be participating in the ‘Serenade! Washington, D.C Choral Festival, 2018’. The Chennai Children’s Choir is an initiative by the NalandaWay Foundation that has children from the disadvantaged homes in Chennai forming a world class choir. The children are engaged on a yearlong program that exposes them to music of different languages and styles.

The ‘Serenade! Washington, D.C. Choral Festival’, established in 2011, is an exuberant celebration of choral music from around the world. Co- presented by the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Classical Movements’ 8th annual Serenade! will honor the 100th anniversary of the birth of South African revolutionary, politician and philanthropist, Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela.

From June 25 to July 2, 2018, the Chennai Children’s Choir will be experiencing enriching cultural exchanges, while participating in outreach events and workshops and performing multiple concerts to enthusiastic audiences at prestigious venues throughout the Washington, D.C. alongside various youth choirs from across the globe.
