Help little ones get back to learning!
Hi there, I am Shyam Sekhar, an investment manager. I have been associated with NalandaWay for many years.
A study by Azim Premji Foundation, stated that due to the pandemic, over 89% disadvantaged children in the 5th std have forgotten English and Math. This critical loss can severely impair their ability to learn complex academic concepts, affect their self-confidence, and they may even drop out of school.
NalandaWay Foundation is working with 690 most deserving students studying in the 5th std in 17 government schools across Chennai. Their aim is to help them achieve their age-specific learning levels in English and Math through an arts-based programme.
Almost a year into the programme, there has been a noticeable difference in the children’s English reading and Math problem-solving skills. Children show enhanced creativity and have developed a greater ability to generate new and original ideas. They also display a sense of logical reasoning and are able to think of appropriate solutions to situational problems.
I am inviting friends and family to contribute to this much needed programme by making a donation. This donation will help towards employing teaching assistants, providing them with tablets, and providing learning aids, workbooks, and art materials to the children. No amount is small. The NalandaWay team will ensure that you get an update on the children’s progress regularly. Thank you!
