A recent study by Azim Premji Foundation, stated that due to the pandemic, over 89% disadvantaged children in the 5th standard have forgotten English and Math. This critical loss can severely impair their ability to learn complex academic concepts, affect their self-confidence, and they may even drop out of school.
At NalandaWay Foundation, we have identified 690 most deserving students studying in the 5th standard in 17 govt schools across Chennai. We aim to help them achieve their age-specific learning levels in English and Math through an arts-based programme.
To provide for a teaching assistant, a tablet for the teaching assistants, learning aids, workbooks, and art materials for an entire year we require Rs. 11,000 per child.
