Sarfaraj Khan is a social engineer — simple, supportive and strong-spirited — who believes in serving society with sincerity and skill. With a background in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, he has worn many hats: shift engineer, project coordinator, social protection officer, strategic researcher, storyteller, and a steady, sensitive soul committed to community development.
He began his career in the corporate world as a Shift Engineer at Vedanta, but it wasn’t long before he felt the pull to work more closely with people. That led him to the Piramal Foundation, where he served as a Gandhi Fellow. There, he shaped grassroots initiatives, explored systemic challenges and mentored young leaders who were just beginning to find their voice.
His journey continued at The Hans Foundation as a Project Coordinator, where he worked to strengthen healthcare systems and support marginalised communities. Currently, he is a Well-being Fellow at the Kshamtalaya Foundation, where he supports over 2,000 educators through a unique audio-based mental health series — a quiet and consistent effort to make space for emotional well-being.
Outside of this, Sarfaraj is a published author and national award-winning essayist, with research papers and a strong belief in the power of expression. He is especially drawn to working with children and young people, helping them explore life skills, storytelling and creative dialogue. Whether he is mentoring youth or designing livelihood programmes for adolescent girls, he brings clarity, care and purpose to everything he does.
Sarfaraj leads with sincerity and works with heart. His stories and skills speak not only of what he does, but why it matters.
