Theatre Nisha believes that theatre is inherent to humans, and is one of the most potent tools to achieve self-actualisation. Inspired by the cornerstones of instinct, intuition, impulse and imagination, the company produces plays and conducts workshops and training sessions for actors, teachers, students and corporates. Theatre Nisha has produced over 100 plays in 21 years and worked with over 70 schools and organisations towards this endeavour.
V Balakrishnan (right) is the founder and artistic director of Theatre Nisha. He is a graduate of the National School of Drama, a Charles Wallace Scholar, and a recipient of the Fulbright Distinguished Award in Teaching. He has been a theatre educator for over 22 years now. He has acted in more than 150 plays and directed over 100 plays. Meera Sitaraman (centre) has been a designer, stage manager, actor and educator with Theatre Nisha for over 10 years now. She also writes plays and debuted as a director with The Trojan Women in 2019. Aparna Kumar (left) has been an actor, designer and educator with Theatre Nisha for the past 3 years.
