The Express Train
Go right, go left. Come on, get your socks up, think straight! In a world taught to rely heavily on learning by rote, the Express Train is a flagship Nalandaway program geared to introduce the free flow of arts into conventional learning methods. Created primarily for 3 to 6 year olds from disadvantaged backgrounds, the Express Train was first piloted across anganvadis in Noida. The idea behind the program is simple – to induce literacy and numeracy in young children through storytelling and art. (Know More)
The aim is for every child to learn to experience their senses fully while developing cognitive, physical-motor, language-communication and socio-emotional skills. The Express Train is a program that envelops many other stakeholders within its sensitive & humanistic framework, including teachers and mothers. An environment of support and guidance is created and perpetuated through consistent communication with stakeholders who directly have an impact on the children’s lives.
